Mercury Retrograde In Virgo...

Looking to leave behind those negative approaches to Mercury Retrogrades?  Try focusing on the positive!

Retrogrades do not need to be about doom and gloom.  They are all about SPIRAL teachings... going back.  They are the perfect time to readdress older energies from our pasts.  The sign that a retrograde is taking place in is also a contributing factor.  This month, we have a Mercury Retrograde and it is taking place in Virgo.  (If you wish to take it even further, you can work out which house Virgo is to you, personally, and this house will act as a contributor as well.)

In general, Virgo represents what we might call "Clean Living", such as volunteer work, exercise, dieting, paid work that holds meaning to us, etc.  It can also represent getting organised, capabilities with thinking things through, and trust.

Mercury is about communications and "cogs in wheels".  While it is retrograding in this sign, it means that we have wonderful opportunities to "go back" to our past efforts with volunteer work, our people we have previously had in our lives, etc., and re-establish positive communications.

It's okay to let go of some of those concerns about what has taken place in the past and what ways a Mercury Retrograde might mess us up... no need to hide away at home with the phone turned off.  Instead, try taking back your power, offer some kind words, and help yourself and others to feel better.  Take the opportunity to create the positive world you wish to live in!

The Full Moon Phase Is Here...

This week (Wednesday / Thursday, EST)

we have the 9th Full Moon since the Winter Solstice.

Keywords:  CULMINATION;  ATTAINING GOALS;  ABUNDANCE;  INCREASING PERSONAL WILL; plus more!

In some Pagan / Wiccan systems, this may be known as the "Barley Moon".

In some Ojibwe systems, it may be known at the "Leaves Falling Moon".

There are many different names applied among various cultures and traditions, but regardless of which name is applied to it, generally speaking, there are some spiritual teachings that many people of many faiths believe in and participate in when this full moon comes around.

Each year the moon cycles differ somewhat in their timing as a spiritually defined cycle may begin, either, with the first full moon after the Winter Solstice, or for some faiths, with the first new moon after the Winter Solstice.  Since most of the teachings I am familiar with begin with the full moon, I am offering some tidbits in this regard.  This year, the first full moon came very quickly as it fell just days after the Winter Solstice in 2015 on Dec. 25th EST.  Due to this fact, the 9th Esbat, or 9th Full Moon has come a bit early.  This, of course, creates unique circumstances.

Mother Nature has her special ways and they are beautiful to watch.  With this moon arriving in late summer rather than early autumn, we see a coming-together of these two seasons at the same time and we can expect this seasonal coming-together to last for an extended period.  Some days we may see signs of Summer influenced by Autumn... hot humid days, yet with trees beginning to change their colours.  Some days we may see Autumn influenced by Summer... cool, clammy nights, yet with some flowers re-blooming again not seen since early in the year.  We may also see one day with extreme temperatures, only to find the following day that there is a marked feel in the air of autumnal weather.  This Full Moon --- the 9th --- kicks off this season.  Watch over the next month or so, 'til the next full moon, and see what you notice.

Spiritually speaking, there seem to be energies around us and in us that are influenced by a good full moon, whether during the actual full moon phase (generally 3-5 days), or during the month that follows, give-or-take.  This one brings us the following opportunities...

- increasing our personal will and will power... weeding out those self-sabotaging habits;  getting things done that we might not at other times;  being clear and strong in our ability to stand up for ourselves

- honing skills... taking up a hobby or skill from our past and continuing on with its development;  continuing to learn;  repetitive practices;  continuing to build magical power

- attaining spiritual goals... being sure to grab up those treasured successes & achievements & luck as they come rolling in;  recognising just how far we've come

- wisdom... honouring our own growth and wisdom, as well as that of others

- creativity... taking the abundance of the world and doing something with it!

- communication... with each other, with the plant kingdom, with the fairy kingdom, with the angel kingdom

- awareness... of Mother Nature;  psychically;  with Self

- relationships (whether they be new or long-standing, personal or in business)... practising inter-personal skills;  getting to know people even further;  continuing to build for the future connection and reliability

yang energy... if you can find that 'get-up-and-go' then use it while you can!

leadership... initiating plans and getting organised for the up-coming busy times;  taking your turn at the wheel in a group situation

generosity... recognising just how much the world has to offer and sharing it with a smile, or even in anonymity

furthering your career... building on what you've already created for yourself;   accepting further opportunities

enjoying what you have... the children around you;  your family;  your security;  your neighbourhood;  and more!

dreams... paying attention to them;  learning how to work with them / recover from them;  using them for your magical / spiritual bliss and achievement
