Making The Most of The Season,

In Canada, we covet our warm weather months.  As soon as Spring rolls in and the sun is shining, the typical Canadian schedule fills up quickly... we become busy... no more hibernating!  With this onset, each of us may feel different needs.  For some, taking full advantage is a must... taking care of the yard and gardens, making plans for outdoor activities, attending festivals... life is abundant and rich and they soak it up while they can.  For others, some quiet time for Self is craved... bird-watching, breakfast on the patio before the start of the day, peace among the greenery and flowers... these moments of tranquility bring balance and buoy the body and spirit for endurance.  What do you find is your need at this time of year?

For myself, I enjoy the best of both worlds.  My work and social schedules pick up drastically in May and it is all I can do to keep up. For June, July, and August, I enjoy my city's bounteous menu of cultural events, outdoor restaurant patios, and more.  I know, however, that September will arrive soon enough (another time of year with a swirl of activity and scheduling), and since I know I need to take care of myself (and I truly enjoy serenity), I seek out ways to also bring in some quietude each day for some harmony.  If I can make it out to my balcony early enough in the day, I love, love, love eating a leisurely breakfast while the world is still quiet and I can take my time soaking up the verdancy that my view affords.  I make sure that I take breaks throughout the day to protect my sanity and abilities... meditation and breathing exercises carry me a long way and can be ever so blissful.  Evening arrives, and I am back outside to sit with my tea and listen to the birds chatter away as they share the stories of their days with each other.  This is the warm weather life that I love.  I know that my choices determine what my days look like, and so I try to make those choices count.

One of the best things about my work is that I get to be of service to others... providing safe space to give the Self permission to walk the best possible path, safe space for gentleness, safe space for choosing appropriate motivations, or even opportunities to have some fun.  Bliss and goodness are the order of the day, and I relish the opportunities that arise as clients let me know what their needs are.  Nothing makes me happier than seeing happiness in others.  Whether they require some down-time to achieve peace-of-mind with Reiki or Meditation Instruction, or they are searching for something interesting to do with friends, they come to me with their wishes, and I get to grant them.  BEST WORK EVER!  To that end, I offer a menu with a wide variety of options for clients to select from.  Of course, year-round, Psychic Readings are popular, and these can be of use for anyone wishing to get the most out of their choices.  During the summer, however, I tend to also get requests for Readings at parties that people are throwing for their family and friends.  Magical Workshops are also popular during the summer months, particularly when women are hosting the ladies for get-togethers... they're great fun!  Understandably, also, are the requests for "Me Time"... Reiki Relaxation, the "Day Of Bliss" package, and Meditation Instruction... ways to bring in some gentleness, softening hectic schedules and frayed nerves.  Whatever the request, it's my pleasure meeting those needs, and seeing smiles on faces.

'Get Your Art On'

Art Show & Sale

As a Sensitive, I tend to be quite creative... it runs in my family.  From a very early age, just as with my healing and intuitive abilities, I naturally craved and created opportunities to use paints and pencils and a camera that was gifted to me by my aunt.  As an adult, within my Light-Work, I generally require some type of a creative component before doing my Psychic Readings for clients, whether it be automatic writing, intuitive art, or simply using the pictures, colours, and shapes on Tarot or Oracle cards... it seems to stimulate whatever part of the brain does that work.  In my personal time when I'm not doing Readings or Reiki with clients, I enjoy working away in my art studio, blissfully expressing myself through magical images that form on canvases, paper, or any other surface I want to make beautiful.  I even have a little hobby business working with the kiddos in my community doing face painting, making them happy with my colours.  I find that allowing myself this freedom to create, in whatever way my Spirit nudges me toward, does something for me like nothing else can.  The rhythms of my mind and heart and day make a shift and I feel "in-flow" with the Divine and my purpose here on Earth.

This long weekend, I am participating in a local art show.  I've attended this annually-occurring event once before, but this year I have the opportunity to contribute 16 pieces of my own.  As I was sifting through the many stored in my studio, I was trying to decide which style I wanted to focus on.  I landed on the idea to show a sampling of a few different series I've worked on, as well as a few that stand on their own.  While some artists develop a sort of "style" and stick with it for their careers, I simply feel too boxed-in for that kind of discipline.  By sharing a small sampling of my various series and techniques, I think I'm happy in sharing a wider glimpse of myself with visitors to the show, some of whom will be friends and may be surprised by what they learn about me.  Here are just a few of what I am taking along to share, as well as the poster for the event.  If any of you are local to Peterborough, Ontario and are looking for something fun to do this long weekend, head on down to the 'Get Your Art On' Art Show & Sale.  To those of you who also love colour, texture, light & shadow... Moving Forward

As a Taurus, I naturally love it when May rolls around.  Not only does my birthday tend to last a number of weeks, with many well-wishes and get-togethers with family and friends, but in my area (Ontario, Canada) the grass, foliage, and flowers start to come in.  Colour!  At last!  The days are warmer, the birds are returned and singing their little hearts out.  All I want to do is have the windows open or sit outside and breathe in the scent of the earth and air.  Life feels good.

As a Light-Worker, I am a Sensitive and an Energy Reader.  I am greatly affected by my environment.  My Taurean proclivities and needs play into this as well.  My senses crave the stimulation of Springtime offerings.  No more winter coats... my skin sings with the gentle touch of the cool breeze.  No more snow covering the trees and ground... my every breath is filled with the buffet of scents now lifting and flowing in the air... from ground to sky.  Hearing the birdsong and the bustling of my fellow Canadians as they are now free to enjoy the great outdoors in our urban setting without the deep chill of the previous months... it all makes me smile.  In addition, I notice, my body starts to crave greens and nuts.  Nature has deprived me of these gifts locally for a great many months, now, and it is still too early for Her to offer them again.  So what to do?

Beltane is the mid-point between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice.  The "in-between".  Gone are the days of lack... and yet to come are the days of harvest.  For anyone who pays attention to the seasons and Mother Nature, we know instinctively what to do with this time of year.  GET PLANTING!!!  Whether it be a literal planting of seeds, bulbs, and tubers, or it be with putting plans in place to meet future goals, NOW is the time to ignite the spark and fan the flame.

I find that my world is constantly in flow with Universal Purpose.  I still have free will, yet abundant are the opportunities to work with the Great Divine, squeezing the juiciness out of life for all its worth and reaping the benefits.  Come May, this means getting ready for summer and getting ready for bigger things ahead.  As I type away, here, I can look around me and see the reflections of this very flow.  On my dining table there are stacks of paintings and drawings and frames as I make efforts to get ready to participate in a local art show.  On the floor is my gear for my little hobby business of face painting with the kiddos in my community --- summer is the big time for this and all must be ready to go to make our Little Ones happy.  Beside me is my 'to-do' list... and it's loonngg... marketing, web-managing, connecting with clients, updating my data, and more, more, more.   My bean and morning glory seeds and my spider plant babies are awaiting for me to finish my work and finish my breakfast and get them into soil so that they may dream the dream of life.  Abundant are my opportunities, and I am a happy camper.  I can just feel the pulse of the Divine electric Yang, push, push, pushing for movement and growth, and promising rewards to come.

As May breaks us open to the bliss of Birth and Life, I send you wishes of Goodness and Joyfulness, for Abundance and Opportunity, and for flowing with your Purpose.

My Psychic Process

For today's post, I thought I would share a little about the process I go through as I offer Psychic Readings to clients.  I have had many questions over the years from them, from the general public, my family, and also from those who are starting out in their own development.  It's also been nice to connect with fellow Psychics, each sharing with the others about what we experience within ourselves as we do this work.  It's not the same for all of us... we are all unique... and yet there can be similarities as well.  The more we share of ourselves, the more we learn from each other.  I also wish to assist my clients in getting the most out of their Readings, and I find that explaining my process provides that for them.

Before the Client Arrives...  I prepare myself to be of assistance.  When booking, I do need to know which type of Reading a client is looking for as each type can take a different length of time, and this can affect scheduling.  Also, by understanding ahead of time which type of Reading I will be doing, I allow myself the time, grounding, and exercises I need to do in preparation so that I may do my best work possible for the client when they arrive.  I also want to keep myself healthy, and so this prep work assists with this as well.

Preamble.  Once the client and I are seated at the table, I take a bit of time letting them know what they can expect from their session.  While I don't push my spiritual beliefs onto clients, I do need to explain to them what I am perceiving so that they have an understanding of my process and what is happening inside me as I'm Reading for them... it helps them to understand their Reading better.

Moment of Silence.  Before the Reading begins, I do my prayer work, setting up positive energies, and asking for "only the nice kids on the playground" (our "Teams Up There"... whatever we each believe in) to come in to help.  As best as I am able to understand, it is like a sort of relay system --- their "Team" talks to my "Team", my "Team" talks to me, and then I talk to the client... the information being passed along a sort of circuit.  During this moment of silence, I feel a connection to a higher, positive source, energies start revving up, and our "teams" know that it's time to get started.  This process only takes a moment, and the client is free to use that time for themselves.  By making this effort, the energies for the session are set up and we are ready to go.

Using A Creative Component.  Depending on the type of Reading I am doing, I will be working with some type of creative component to help stimulate whatever part of the brain does this work.  For some types of Readings, this may be Automatic Writing, or perhaps Intuitive Art.  For most of the Readings I do for clients (Life Path, Chakra, Astrological Tarot, etc.), I use cards as they have pictures on them with shapes and colours etc. and this works in the same way for me.  Starting with a creative component acts like a diving board for me to jump off of.  Once that part of my brain in stimulated appropriately, I then move into a sort of "Psychic Zone"... I stare off to the side, I rub my fingers together, and something within me and my energy systems flows like a river, carrying the information.

Initial Run-Through.  I prefer to not know much about my clients or their current situations when I first start their Readings so that I am not influenced.  While I do have repeat clients and I do get to know them a little over time, I always ask for them to hold off on sharing any information with me about their current circumstances until I have finished my initial run-through.  This is the time I take to share with the client what information is flowing along the circuit from their "Team" to my "Team" and then to me.  Most often, it is the most important information that comes up for the client during that session and is usually what they came to ask about anyway.  Also, from the perspective of the clients' "Team", this is THEIR chance to get a message to their human here on Earth that they have been watching over, and it's why they're present to help out.  Once I've finished with this part of the Reading, there is always time for the client to then ask questions, share about their circumstances, and ensure that they are using their session to meet their own needs.

2 Kinds of Information. During the session, I like for there to be two kinds of information to come through... the kind that the client is already aware of, and the kind that they are not yet aware of.

The kind that you know... It's important for a client to see for themselves that this process is real so that they can be reassured that they are not wasting their time.  I would not otherwise know certain things about them unless it was coming from a higher place.

The kind that you don't... It's also important for the client to receive information, that they are not yet aware of, to take away from their session... things to watch for, to have their "ah-ha" moments with, to work with and feel empowered about, and so on.

Also, regarding the kind of information that they are already aware of... to the best of my understanding, this is intended to act as validation for them from their "Team".  They are letting the client know that they are watching over them, that they feel the client is already on the right track, that they are giving thumbs up, and to please keep up the good work.  In the years that I have been doing this work, I find that this validation can often bring great reassurance to the client, and is an invaluable part of the session.

Act As A Radio.  Regardless of how I word the information that comes through, I don't actually know anything about the client.  As an Energy Reader, I'm just doing my best to pick up the energies that are being "transmitted" to me from my "Team" and trying my best to translate this into English.  I am just doing my best to be a "radio" so to speak.  There is no fax nor email that is being handed to me for me to read verbatim.  Rather, it is like playing Pictionary or Charades... my "Team Up There" are doing their best to send me signals for me to try to interpret.  While I do my best to be the radio and help these points of information to make their way through to the client, I don't actually know anything about the client or what context to put these points of information into.  The client knows their life and situations better than I ever would, and so hopefully they will recognize what it is that I am saying and where to apply it.  If they don't, there are two possibilities... 1) I need to re-word my interpretations, or 2) this is intended to be the kind of information that they don't yet know, which is further intended for them to take away with them after their session to then watch for and have their "ah-ha" moments with.  I have always found this process to be quite fascinating and amazing (and sometime frustrating).  How cool is it that such abilities and goings-on exist?!  I love having the chance to talk with other Psychics / Sensitives to see how they pick up their information... what's happening inside of them that may be similar to my way or different.  We still have great need as a species to continue research in this field and to learn more about how all of this works but, in the meantime, I plug along and continue using my abilities in this way.  My hope is to do the best job I am able to do and that the client receives what they need from their session.

Recording The Information.  There tends to be A LOT that comes through in a session, particularly Full Sessions (I also offer shorter "Mini Readings") and it is way too much for clients to remember it all.  I usually recommend that they bring along a recording device... most people have this option on their smartphones these day.  I also offer paper and pen for their use.

By The End Of The Session.  As long as I have enough scheduled time to focus all of my attention on each client, I prefer to ensure that they have had their needs met by the time they leave.  While I do do back-to-back Readings under certain circumstances, I mostly try to leave enough leeway between clients so that they can get the most out of their time that they can.  I never charge beyond the appointment time... I just keep going until their needs are met.  My goal is to help ensure that they leave feeling empowered and that they have what they need to work with to get the most out of their lives as they move forward.

After A Client Leaves.  Once I have finished up with a client (whether they are on their own for the day, or I have another coming in a little while) I need to take some time stepping away from their energies and back into my own.  This helps me to stay as healthy as possible.  Again, as a species, we need to continue research in this field, but it is generally accepted by Psychics / Sensitives / Light-Workers that our bodies and energy systems are affected by doing this work, and so the importance is high for us to maintain our systems for the benefit of all.

Okay, I hope that today's post is helpful to those who have had questions about what takes place when I am Reading.  Other Readers may go through similar processes, but also may have their own points of information to share that differ from mine.  I always recommend that clients do a bit of research first when they are searching for a new Reader to go to.  Feel free to ask about the process that the Reader uses, what types of Readings they offer --- Are they actually the type of Reading that you are looking for?  There are MANY! --- and get as many details as they need to help them make the right choice for themselves.  For now, I wish you all the blessings of a beautiful day and a full life.  💗

Happy Valentine's Day...

I often get calls from people with unique ideas for parties, events, and gifts for their loved ones.  They come to me looking to help meet their needs.  Gift certificates for services, setting up an appointment and offering to pay for it, organizing a themed party or event and inviting me to provide Readings... even booking a Couple's Reading for their date with their Sweetie or a parent / child outing... I've received quite a lot of lovely requests from my clients who want to share their love.  💗

Doing this work makes me happy.  Each day, I get to wake up to something new, something beautiful, and I love it.  It's an honour to be included in people's lives, their challenges, opportunities and successes... their love for their partners, families and friends.  This is what life is all about.  Can you imagine what this is like, to be fortunate enough to be a part of these special moments, to view the worlds of others and to see their stories as they take shape?  I'm one lucky duck... this is one of the best jobs in the world.  💗

New Year, New Opportunities...

Where is your life leading you now?

Each year, I take some retreat time for myself.  Work tends to be a bit slower in January, and so it makes for the perfect opportunity for me to re-connect with myself.  There are things that I ensure I do during each of these retreats... I cover the clocks, turn the ringer off on my phone, set up the 'vacation responders' with my email providers. I love, love, love these little permissions I give myself, and they make all the difference in the world in helping me to get the most out of my "Me Time".  I do generally, however, see what else I want to do, and this looks different year to year.  Some years I let myself just BE... I sit / lay / walk, and breathe.  Last year I cat / house sat in a period home and soaked up the ambiance and the love and the purrs.  This year I decided to spend quite a bit of creative time... painting, colouring, drawing... and took an on-line course on how to use my scanner to create art.  I still allowed for tons of quiet time, slept when I needed to sleep, meditated, and such, but I also gave myself permission to expand my horizons and feed my soul.

Creative work shifts my energy systems in a way that nothing else can.  My neural pathways, my circulatory system, my breathing system -- everything -- realigns back into a natural harmony for me.  While I try to ensure that I incorporate creativity into my daily routines on-going, I am a member of the human species and find that life can often tug at me.  By giving myself some dedicated creative time, especially in conjunction with mediation, rest, and quiet, I push the so-called re-set button --- AND IT FEELS GREAT!
