The Peterborough Psychic Experiment Circle has been having some fun!

A free group to join, we love to get together with open-minded people who enjoy deciding for themselves what the metaphysical / paranormal world is all about. We meet Monday evenings 7 - 9 pm downtown Peterborough Ontario. (Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 we will not be meeting due to the holiday long weekend but will re-join the following week.)

We've been having a blast trying various experiments and techniques... just the fun stuff, nothing scary! While there is a professional psychic in attendance to provide guidance when requested and to act as facilitator, this group belongs to itself and different people will make their own types of contributions. Some of those who have come out to the group have tried such things as: Making an effort to see if they could get the same number to come up on dice with multiple tries... Taking aura photos / trying to see auras with their minds' eyes... Using pendulums to try to get simple answers to simple questions... Using oracle cards to try to receive Universal guidance... Experimenting with EMF detectors to find out how electricity was moving around the room and / or through and around people's bodies... Making attempts to give "Psychic" messages based on clairvoyance, psychometry, etc.... Practicing using Law-of-Attraction to see if they could bring particular things / events into being... Plus, we've gone on a few field trips (with at least a couple more planned for the next month or so) and have even just enjoyed spending time gabbing about some of the interesting experiences that people have witnessed within their own lives around the paranormal / metaphysical theme.

There's no judgement nor trying to convince anyone to believe. We each, as individuals, participate to whatever level we are comfortable and just come out to whichever meetings we feel like... no strings, no pressures.. just fun and maybe even some self-development if we want to delve into our own personal "Psychic" abilities. Newbies, Curious, & Seasoned all welcome.

Experimenting with magnets / pendulums.

A group heads out to a lovely cemetery on the way to the Omemee area. We each decided for ourselves what we wanted to try in terms of practicing or experimenting, and some just wandered around to check out the beautiful setting. Even though this picture is a bit darkened, we actually went out during the daylight evening hours and were finishing up around 8:30. Many people are not comfortable at trying things in the dark and so our group sticks to daylight-hour fieldtrips.

Shown previously on this business blog, here's this photo again of a group of us that headed out to "Ghost Road" aka Bartlet Rd. near the casino. Many people report similar experiences / impressions along this road and the word is spreading. Even if you're not interested in the realm of the paranormal, it was simply a lovely walk in the country with forest, field, wetland, and river along to way.

 Thank you to John Proctor for running the Bodhran-Making workshop this past weekend!  Thank you, also, to Mary McGillis and Celtic Connection in Lakefield, Ontario for hosting the workshop!

Bodhrans are Celtic drums made with goat skin.  They're held in the hand and rested on the lap.  They can also have a handle on the back for holding like a hand drum.

 During the 2 day workshop, we sanded the frame, handle and handle of the beater.  We also stretched the skin, cut down and applied the handle, applied the trim, padded the beater and, for some, applied an oil to the wood.

 By the end we were quite happy with our Bodhrans!  What a great weekend!

Mary Harris.

Mary was a soul of beauty and light, of grace and dignity.

She was and will forever be well-loved by as many people as there are stars in the sky.  She was so many things to so many others... she left us each in a better place in the world.

It is due to Mary that I am the person I have become, in great part.  It was Mary who first brought Reiki and its many benefits into my consciousness, which, in turn, lead me to seek out classes and development, and then, to offer Reiki as a professional.  It was she whom I would go to for receiving Mothering on the Reiki table, in her livingroom and in her garden.  It is she who got me involved with many of the local art groups here in Peterborough and with the work I so often do with these groups.  It is she who taught me about Self-Permission and Universal Grace... that wonderful "I'm okay, You're okay" view on Life.  Rippling out through space and time, I honour her by doing my best to continue sharing that philosophy and healing energy to those I encounter, whether client or friend, family member or unseen spirit. Her very Being will continue to affect those of us who where lucky enough to know her, as well as those who didn't get the chance.  I'm not sure I could ever consider myself more fortunate than I can from having had her in my life.
