Many clients and colleagues have asked me about how I have collected my many CRYSTALS that I use in my practice. One of the best sources is the...
annual Peterborough Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show
at the Evinrude Centre (Monaghan Rd. @ Lansdowne).
This weekend, Sat. Feb. 28 & Sun, Mar. 1
10 - 5 each day.
If you've got kids, I recommend going early on the Saturday and enjoy the stay, including a digging sandbox for the kids to learn about archeology, and for the kids-only silent auctions.
If you're looking for great deals, I recommend checking out the adult silent auctions, the live auction (4pm on Sat.), or coming for the afternoon on Sunday when many of the vendors are willing to give discounts.
The event tends to be very social, as well, and I'm always running in to like-minded people, colleagues and friends. (It's a bit like the Gilmour Street Sale, if you're a Peterboroughian.)
This show is an annual show, so I recommend that, while there, pick up one of the announcement slips that lets you know when the next one is, then paperclip it to the end of your wall calender so that you've got it as a reminder for next year.
It is presented by the Kawartha Rock & Fossil Club. For more information, you can go to their website at http://kawartharockandfossilclub.com/
